Sikkim


Sikkim is also known as Shikim or Su Khyim. Its location is Himalayan Mountains. Sikkim is a least populous state in India. Sikkim is a combination of two words:-SU means “NEW” and KHYIM means “PLACE” or “HOUSE”. The Sikkim state has five seasons: Winter, spring, autumn, summer and Monsoon. During the monsoon heavy rain increases the risk. The record of continuous rain in Sikkim is 11 days.

In Sikkim national transport runs Bus and Truck service. Privately run Taxi and Jeep service. In Sikkim celebrate all major festival include Diwali and Dussera. Sikkim literacy rate is 69.68 percent. There is a 1,157 School and twelve colleges in Sikkim state. The Sikkim people are simple and friendly.

Sikkim state is a multiethnic state means the population divided into tribal and non-tribal groups.
